Our Mission
The Make a Great Journey™ movement began as a way to give back to the community by helping others. As a veteran educator and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, Marcy would spend her extra time tutoring and mentoring students individually or in small groups. In various social events, new moms began seeking her guidance creating learning activities for their preschoolers. This led her to speaking to large groups of mothers in conferences on various topics… creating healthy family lifestyles, handling finances, creating schedules, and one of her most well-received courses on training up positive children!
Simultaneously, she had an even greater impact by working with the education system at the state level and by leading teacher training conferences. She further created topic-specific educational curriculum for multi-grades up through the college level, where currently she is an academic professor.
Throughout all her endeavors, she's most proud of being a Mom of 2 boys and living life to the fullest with her family!! And, the family definitely has a passion for travel and nature! In her spare time, she enjoys hiking the Great Smoky Mountains. This has turned into a compilation of several full-color books like My Smokies from a Smoky Mountain Girl and the best-seller Dollywood Ultimate Guide of Things to See, Eat, and Do which is updated yearly! Even these books are meant to help navigate families in traveling to these areas.
At the core of most everything she does, Marcy’s desire is to educate, inspire, and empower others. She has natural way to “teach” others in a simple, easy to understand, yet impactful way! Many times, she has found that most people feel overwhelmed, never been taught how to be successful, or never really had the support, strategies, or the preparation needed.
Ultimately, Make a Great Journey™ was formed to create content and courses with the sole purpose to enhance and empower individuals and families to make the most of their journey in life. A team has been created that is passionate to not only educate, but inspire others to learn more, do more, and be more!
